The New York Times recently reported that an herbicide called Imprelis, manufactured by DuPont, is the leading suspect in the deaths of many trees across the country, including Norway spruces and eastern white pines. The product has been used by many lawn care professionals because it was believed to be environmentally friendly. Imprelis was approved for sale by the Environmental Protection Agency last fall to be used to kill broadleaf weeds, such as dandelions.

Around Memorial Day many reports of dying trees began to surface, according to The New York Times. This has prompted DuPont scientists to investigate the issue. Kate Childress, a spokeswoman for DuPont, said “We are investigating reports of these unfavorable tree symptoms. Until the investigation is complete, it’s difficult to say what variables contributed to the symptoms.”

Customers of Cartwright Tree Care don’t have to worry because Cartwright Tree Care has not used the Imprelis product. You can trust us with all of your tree care needs, so visit our website to learn more about our services and how we can help keep your trees beautiful and healthy all year long!
