And all the birds flew away to the warm south, to wait for the spring. The official first day of winter is December 21st, but you shouldn't wait until then to have your trees inspected for potential winter time risks! Remember last year? We had a few snowy/icy events that left people scrambling with tree damage. This year, we've received a lot of questions about trimming - or even - removing trees to prevent the potential risk.  Most specifically we were asked about the dead and heavily damaged ash trees, which, unfortunately, is most of them throughout the Kansas City Metro area. At the start of the summer, after we really started to realize the damage to ashes, one of the things that Kansascitians were really worried about was, are we going to start seeing the ash trees dropping limbs and breakage, especially with old man winter knocking at our Midwestern door!  With a proper risk assessment of not only your ash tree(s) but all of your trees, a professional can determine if your trees poses a potential threat to pedestrians or structures.
