Although we are all looking forward to spring after a long winter, we are going to have to deal with those persistent April showers. Along with all the rain, there’s a good chance there will be a few storms to contend with. Because of this, it’s important that you take steps in order to protect your Kansas City trees from lightning. The following are a few ways to do this:

If a tree is hit by lightning, there’s a very good chance it will be killed. You can help reduce the chances of your trees being hit by lightning by implementing a copper cable system. You’ll want to extend the copper cable system from air terminals at the top of all major trunks that reach down to 10-foot long copper ground rods that are driven beyond your tree’s drip line. There are special fasteners that you can use in order to keep the cable away from the tree, thereby protecting the trunk.

Protect your trees from lightning this April by installing a copper cable system, which is both effective and inconspicuous. Be sure to contact us at Cartwright Tree Care for tips on what to do with storm damaged trees.
