Prune_Properly_to_Keep_Your_Shrubs_in_FlowerWhen it comes to caring for your shrubs, it is essential to prune properly. There are a huge number of reasons why you should make sure that you prune your shrubs. First of all, pruning helps to promote flowering. Secondly, doing so reduces pests. Last but not least, pruning contributes to the health of a plant. The following are a few pruning tips to keep in mind:

Although shrubs don't necessarily need pruning to survive, we recommend pruning old branches in order to stimulate the growth of new branches that will produce more flowers. Getting rid of old branches also helps improve air circulation and removes any pests living in the old wood. Figuring out when to prune your shrubs is a different matter. If your shrubs flower in early spring, then you should prune them in the late spring, right after they finish blooming. If you wait too long, the amount of flowers they produce will be reduced next year. When it comes to tools for pruning shrubs, we suggest picking up hand pruners, loppers and a pruning saw for the thicker branches.
