The tree is an eastern cottonwood that’s located right near the center of the disc golf course, right below the scenic Lookout Point and slightly west of the old hilltop reservoir. So how big is this tree, exactly? The tree reaches heights of 125 feet and boasts a crown spread of 120 feet. The trunk itself is a bit overwhelming when you stand in front of it – it’s roughly 9 feet across and 29 feet around! The tree is roughly 70 years old. The previous largest tree in the state was also a cottonwood – no surprise, considering how fast cottonwoods tend to grow.
