If you’re looking for ways to improve the curb appeal of your property this fall, then one of the best ways you can do this is by planting a tree. The following are a few tips to help you plant a healthy tree this fall:

Don’t plant too deep – The top of the tree’s root ball should be just a little bit higher than the ground. Don’t cover it entirely in soil.
  • Loosen the roots – If you’ve bought a tree that is in a container, then it means the roots are growing in a circular shape around the root ball. Loosen up the roots before planting it.
  • Fill in the hole – When filling the hole around your tree with soil, make sure to add water so the soil will settle without air bubbles. Use mulch to cover the top of the root ball.
  • Water the tree – Slow water your tree while it becomes established in the first two months to ensure healthy roots.

These are just a few tips that will help you get started on planting a healthy tree. For information about our tree care services in Kansas City, contact us at Cartwright Tree Care.
