Water newly planted trees as often as possible.  Once in the ground it is almost impossible to over-water a tree. 2.) Remove weeds and grass, it keeps them from competing with your newly planted tree for water and nutirents and mulch keeps the soil moist and prevents weeds from popping back up. 3.)
