Have you ever had that empty feeling when you hear that load crash during a storm, leading to you to peak through your window only to see a tree laying across your car? Hopefully, you haven’t. However, it does happen. The following are some of the steps you’ll need to take if a tree falls on your car.

If the tree fell from your property, most homeowner’s insurance policies do not cover it. However, if you have comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance, that should cover you. If the tree fell from your neighbor’s yard, then their policy may cover you. Wherever the tree came from, the first thing you’ll want to do is contact your insurance provider. This will begin the claims process right away.

They will investigate the accident and help you figure out how to get an estimate on the repairs. You’re going to have to pay whatever your deductible is first. Then you can expect a check to come to cover your repairs if the loss is covered. If the car is beyond repair, you’ll be paid your car’s cash value, minus the deductible.

Follow these steps and contact us at Cartwright Tree Care for tree removal in Kansas City. It's always best to identify problem trees before they fall, and we can help.
