A recent study of 37 tree care accidents that were reported in 2014 showed some pretty frightening statistics. In an astonishing 60% of the cases, the accidents proved to be fatal. Furthermore, three of the victims were innocent bystanders, including one three-year-old. The most common type of accident occurred when a home owner attempted to chop down a tree. Other incidents injuries were caused by chainsaws, electrocution, or falling. What all of the accidents have in common is that they were caused by homeowners trying to care for their own trees.
