We just recently shared the news about the Farmer’s Almanac predicting snow in our near future (Click here to read). Many of you took our advice and requested to have one of our professional arbor consultants perform a risk assessment on your Kansas City trees, turns out almost everyone’s trees needed a good trim here in Kansas City! Although, that was expected there were quite a few trees that needed removed too (you know who you are).

So, we figured we would share with you our 5 reasons why you should remove that dead tree in Kansas City:

  • Dead or dying trees attract pests and pests can attack your live trees as well. Protect your live trees (and your neighborhoods) and have a professional remove the dead or dying tree. Once the dead tree is gone you’re going to wish it was removed a long time ago!
  • Dead or Dying trees are very unattractive and add absolutely no curb appeal to your home. When it comes time to sell (if ever) that dead tree will have to go. Having curb appeal adds value to your home as well as your neighbors.
  • Do you know how your tree died or how it is dying, now? If not, find out if you can. Tree diseases spread even after death. Depending on the disease it is most often diagnosed to have the entire tree removed and properly disposed of as to not spread the disease to surrounding trees or plants.
  • Do you spend a lot of time picking up fallen branches? Weak branches will continuously fall from dead or dying trees and especially during a storm. Large dead or dying leads can fall at any time and are a potential threat to any people or animals walking under it from being hit by a branch.
  • Dead trees are more likely to fall. As decay and decomposition set in the dead or dying tree is at jeopardy to topple over. Before your dead or dying tree turns into an emergency removal in the middle of winter, call a professional to have it removed.

Dead or dying trees are a natural process in nature but it is important to remember that dead or dying trees that pose a threat to pedestrians, animals, or other trees and plants should be removed by a professional like the one's at Cartwright Tree Care
