Help the Canopy Project Plant Trees for Earth Day

Earth Day is coming up, which means that you should consider doing something that can benefit the environment. We recommend donating to the Earth Day Network’s The Canopy Project, which focuses on planting trees to help communities rather than focusing on large scale forestry.

The benefit that trees have on the earth cannot be overstated. Trees help to reverse the impact of land degradation, filter the air and help fight off the negative effects of climate change, not to mention help to provide food and energy, thereby helping communities achieve both long-term environmental sustainability as well as economic sustainability.

The Canopy Project has succeeded in planting more than 1.5 million trees over the last 3 years in 18 different countries, including the restoration of urban canopies in U.S. cities, such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, to name a few. This is well in line with the Earth Day Network’s commitment to plant 10 million trees over five years in different impoverished areas throughout the world.

Donate to The Canopy Project to help both the environment and impoverished communities this Earth Day. For advice on adding trees to your landscape, contact us at Cartwright Tree Care today.
