Kansas City has the great fortune of experiencing four seasons a year. Each season brings with it tree maintenance needs. Here are some tips to make your Kansas City landscaping flourish:

  • Winter. The beginning of the year is a good time for safety inspections of older trees, in part because bare branches make it easier to spot issues. Properly wrap new trees that have not developed a corky bark and could be easily damaged.tree maintenance Kansas City
  • Spring. Although sensitive pruning can be performed year round, many people think of pruning in the spring. This is acceptable, but don't over-do it. Remove dead, dying, or damaged branches. The best way to avoid inadvertently damaging the tree is to hire a certified specialist.
  • Summer. Provide adequate tree watering and maintain mulch when needed. Here is an interesting article on summer tree maintenance.
  • Fall. Protect young trees by wrapping their base in a hard, plastic guard or a metal hardware cloth. Burlap or plastic cloth are okay too.
