Make Tree Art Using Fallen Branches and Twigs

As if we haven't alluded to and discussed it enough, I'm going to repeat an idea here. This time of year is notorious for knocking down all sorts of things and for producing haphazard accidents. One of the most common sources of unplanned chaos is trees. Yes, our lovely friends are prone to finding their branches knocked aside by high winds. They also have a tendency to be burdened by layers of heavy snowfall at this time of year. Kansas City's winters are not shy about leaving some damage in the wake of their storms. And, many people find that quite annoying. The cleanup costs can add up quickly, and sometimes these conditions leave pretty detrimental damage.

Today, we are going to keep it pretty simple by sharing some ways that you can make the debris from winter's weather conditions into useful and fun items-how you can turn them into tree art. Some of the things that we mention will be purely items that you'll enjoy looking at; others will have a practical use or two and, still, some will even be a bit musical. Let's get to it, shall we? Here you are:

  • You're not Tom Sawyer, and we are not punishing you. We promise we won't make you paint your creation unless you want to. But, our first item on the list is to build a rustic fence. You can find some ideas online through websites like Pinterest. You could also create a garden arbor!
  • What's next on Cartwright Tree Care's list of tree art? A good option for a crafty somebody. You could use any fallen limbs to design your own candle holders, wind chimes, chandeliers, or even some pendant light fixtures. If you opt for the light fixtures, C.T.C. suggests that you use smaller twigs and branches for ease.
  • The third thing that you could do is find some forked branches and then turn them into shelf brackets!
  • Or, you could create a rad divider between two rooms. It may look really cool if you do it with the use of alternating branch lengths. It'll be catchy to the eye as well as being useful!
  • If you want to go all out with a project that can take some more time, you may opt to create furniture. You could make your own coffee table!

The five things that we listed are just the tip of the iceberg on the many things that you could produce with fallen limbs. The point is to stretch your imagination and creativity to come up with some unique tree art products that satisfy your need to be creative. Plus, you're making lemonade from lemons. What was once an inconvenient build up of storm debris has been doubled into something you can use for the long-term. We don't know about you, but we feel like that's a pretty sweet deal! Feel free to share any of your designs with us!
