Missouri Community Forestry Council Offers Tips for Properly Planting New Trees

Written by vkinney on April 26, 2012 . Posted in Tree Healthcare, Tree Maintenance

As we have mentioned several times in our previous posts on Arbor Day, the observance of Arbor Day focuses greatly on planting new trees, with observances occurring in most states that corresponds with the best time of the year to plant new trees. If you decided to plant a new tree or two to commemorate Arbor Day, it is very important to make sure that you plant your trees correctly.

Earlier this month, the Missouri Community Forestry Council posted some great information on how to plant a tree correctly on their blog, complete with illustrations to help drive the tips home. They have tips for planting bare-root trees (which should be planted quickly so the roots don’t dry out), balled and burlapped trees, potted trees, container grown trees, and trees you plan to plant that may be larger than the average newly planted tree.

Head on over to the Missouri Community Forestry Council’s blog to check out their tips so your newly planted trees will be off to a healthy start.
