Our Favorite Tropical Trees to Admire While Traveling

Finally! Yes, it is here, vacation season. The long-awaited Summer season where vacations unfold and travel begins. Who doesn’t adore traveling and exploring the world? Sights like beautiful mountains, tropical trees, and expansive waters... all these and more are wonderful!

Unless you are Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation, you’re probably like me; you can't wait until vacation time. From the anticipation of packing to the beauty of new scenes, I am enthralled by travel. And, even the vacation blues that come upon returning are worth it! Actually, every bit of it is worth it.

As you can imagine, our travel locations are usually inspired by the beauty of the surrounding nature. Trees? Tropical Trees? Yes, please! Lots and lots of new and exciting species, please.

So, are you wondering what our favorites are? No worries! We will break down our favorite tropical trees to admire while traveling.

Palm Trees - Palm Trees are one of the most popular vacation destination trees that people typically recognize. While they may seem common, we can’t help but love them. After all, they always seem to be a welcome sign in warm vacation locations. This is one tree we love and upon which we cannot wait to set our sights. In conclusion, from Curly Palms to Mexican Fan Palms, we admire them!

Rain Trees – No, I am not talking about the entire rainforest. Instead, I am talking about the Rain Tree. It's also called the Monkeypod Tree. This Hawaiian tree is a stunner with it's unique attributes and canopy that spreads widely. What is our favorite feature on this tree? Its tiny leaves that close at night to let the rain fall through, of course. How cool! Yet, while it is stunning, you'll be wise to avoid parking your car under it. These trees, while beautiful and seemingly whimsical and strong at the same time, produce a sugary substance. They can also drop dust upon the people or vehicles beneath their shade. If you are planning a Hawaiian vacation, be sure to check this one out.

The Ironwood Tree – More specifically knows as Lignum Vitae, the ironwood tree gets its name due to its incredibly hard and dense exterior. In fact, it's so hard that it doesn’t float. It doesn't even float in salt water! Now, that's dense! Native to the Bahamas, this unique tree also features stunning blossoms that are a cross between a blue and purple hue. They can live for extremely long periods. In fact, some have lived to be a thousand years old.

So, now the question is, where are you going? What new trees or scenery might you find on your summer explorations?
