Stop Invasive Spotted Knapweed

Written by cartwrighttreecare on August 03, 2012 .

The Missouri Department of Conservation states that the spotted knapweed is, despite its vibrant pink or purple flower, spotted knapweed a highly invasive weed that should be killed as soon as possible. Across Missouri and Kansas, this weed is harming every type of landscape, from farms to golf courses. The plant is even on the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Plant Protection and Weed Control’s “Watch List” for invasive plant species.

If you see the pink bloom of the invasive spotted knapweed, which looks like miniature thistle flowers, take action or call a landscape expert. Certain herbicides work if you following the manufacturer’s instructions regarding mixing and application.

The Missouri Department of Conservation has information on its website about what to do if you see the invasive spotted knapweed on the highway or on property that is next to yours.
