Winter Weather Predictions

It’s true! The Farmer’s Almanac is predicting snow for our region this year! You know what that means? It’s time to make sure your trees are in tip-top shape before mother nature does her work.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, they are predicting winter to be more mild than normal with normal precipitation and below-average snowfall! The Almanac goes on to state “The coldest periods will be from late November into early December, from late December into early January, and in early February. The snowiest periods will be in mid-November, early to mid- and late December, read more on the Farmer’s Almanac website, click here!

Since snowfall is predicted it is important to take the proper measures to inspect your trees now  for any potential hazards. Make sure there aren’t any broken branches tangled in the tree. Inspect all of your trees including the trees that hang over walkways, sidewalks, driveways and all structures. If you have trees that hang over your home or any other structure have a professional like the ones at Cartwright Tree Care inspect the tree for any potential hazards and access the trees trimming needs.

If your trees show signs that they are weak like dropping dead branches and twigs, hole in the trunk, or is it leaning? Does your tree show signs of insect damage or disease? A lot of diseases are noticed through a tree leaves so get out there now and inspect.

1.) Figure out the species of your tree
2.) Find out what your trees are leaves are supposed to look like
3.) and compare with what your trees leaves actually look like.
4.) Or you can call a professional to diagnose your tree with and insect damage or disease, as well as prescribe treatment, trim, or worse case removal.
