The Kansas City metro area is currently considered to be abnormally dry on the drought scale. Depending on how much snow and precipitation we get over the coming months, this could change at any time. It’s important to have the right tools to use in case of a dry winter. Trees and plants continue to need moisture during the winter, just not as much as during the warmer seasons. Often times winter watering can be considered silly to your neighbor, but just might be the key to healthier plants and trees when Spring comes around.

It’s important to consider the different reasons why your plants may need to be watered and cared for during the winter season. Lack of moisture in the form of rain or snow are a factor but also freezing temperatures and windy days can also have a negative impact on the moisture your plants are attempting to consume. These elements can often make or break the health of your trees or plants when warmer weather comes back and they begin to find their season of growth.

In the heat of Summer, we often are more aware of the heat and dry air that can harm and dehydrate our plants and we need to take precautions to provide the necessary moisture during that season as well by. Things like sprinklers, rain barrels and good old-fashioned watering cans are a great asset to add to a well hydrated and healthy yard.

At Cartwright Tree Care we want to ensure you that you’re not only getting quality tree trimming and removal but we also want to provide you with educational tips that keep you feeling proud and confident about your plants and trees throughout every season.
