During these cold winter months, it can be difficult to feel like spring is around the corner. Bright green grass, trees budding, early spring flowers popping through the soil to remind us that warmer weather is slowing making an appearance and bringing all the beauty with it are a foreign concept but we assure you, it’s coming!
Winter is here and as expected the Midwest weather is as unpredictable as ever. Even the meteorologists can’t keep up with predicting what’s next in the greater Kansas City are but at least they keep trying.
With spring around the corner, I’m sure your significant other has a honey-do list a mile long and there are high expectations attached. Yard work, house painting, continuing new year’s goals- the list goes on.
The Kansas City metro area is currently considered to be abnormally dry on the drought scale. Depending on how much snow and precipitation we get over the coming months, this could change at any time. It’s important to have the right tools to use in case of a dry winter. Trees and plants continue to need moisture during the winter, just not as much as during the warmer seasons. Often times winter watering can be considered silly to your neighbor, but just might be the key to healthier plants and trees when Spring comes around.
