The Neglected Trees

A well-cared-for tree requires some pruning, whether to enhance its natural shape to reveal its true beauty; to control its size to fit in its surroundings; to control or increase flower and fruit production; or to remove dead, unsightly or potentially dangerous limbs.

But, neglecting to care for and have your trees professionally trimmed could pose a threat to the safety, health, and wellness of the tree.

Don’t learn the hard way! Can you relate to the story below? We, too, encourage you to hire a professional 👍!

Not too long ago, I woke up and decided that I might have seriously neglected some or all of the trees on my property more or less for years, and now had a pretty big job on my hands. When I mean a pretty big job, I’m talking about broken trees, hollow trees, tons of deadly deadwood dropping, and they all look unruly.

Come to find out, when your trees look like that, it takes A LOT of work for a tree care crew to clean up the mess, not to mention, it is a dangerous job removing those old hollow neglected trees before they fall into my bedroom at night!

I got busy because winter is on its wicked way, researched a few local and reputable tree care companies, thought about getting myself a ladder and a few pruning tools, but I decided that at my age, that wouldn’t be a great idea and I’d be better off hiring a professional!

So, I hired a local tree care company that shared my sense of aesthetics but also understood my concerns about the health of my trees, safety, the needs of my neighbors, and, of course, my budget. I also wanted someone who wouldn’t mind me overseeing the work.

Living in the Midwest, tree maintenance (before it’s too late), is vital against snow, ice, and wind damage. Pruning deadwood from trees is something that can be done year-round without harming your tree – and removing any limbs that pose potential safety hazards to structures, powerlines, and pedestrians.
